You can ask us to permanently delete your IAMLMP account and the personal data attached to it at any time. This page explains what is removed, what we have to keep, and how to make the request.
Before you ask: cancel any active subscription first
If you have an active record pool subscription, cancel it before requesting deletion. Your billing agreement lives with PayPal, not with us, so deleting your account here does not stop PayPal from charging you. You can cancel from your subscriptions page while you still have access, or ask us to cancel it as part of the same request and we will do it first.
How to request deletion
Send us a request using the contact form with the subject “Account deletion request”, from the email address on your account. Tell us your username if you know it.
We confirm the request comes from the account holder before deleting anything. We aim to complete deletion within 30 days of verifying your request, and will email you when it is done.
What gets deleted
- Your account and login credentials
- Your email address, username, display name and profile photo
- Your playlists and favourites
- Your listening history and play activity
- Any record pool device registration linked to your account
This is permanent. Deleted playlists and history cannot be restored, and we cannot merge them into a new account later.
What we have to keep, and why
We are required to retain records of purchases and payments — invoices, order and subscription records, and payment references — to meet tax, accounting and anti-fraud obligations. Those records are kept for the period the law requires and are not used to contact you or to rebuild a profile of you.
Where we can, we reduce them to the minimum needed: your personal details are removed from the record and only the transaction data required for those obligations remains.
Deleting some data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove individual items. You can delete your own playlists, clear favourites, and edit your profile from your account pages at any time. If you want a specific category of data removed but want to keep your account, say so in your request.
