Zawezo
With the power of one – himself – Zawezo is establishing a new Latino wave. His solo debut album, El Circo takes you through almost every human emotion both in English and Spanish interchanging the two cultures musically to the point where they become one unique sound: Zawezo Del’Patio. Born in the Dominican Republic, Alex Garcia, p.k.a. Zawezo Del'Patio, found himself passionate about music at an early age. As a child, Zawezo enjoyed listening to American hip hop, such as Naughty by Nature, Wu Tang Clan, and MC Hammer. Acts like Michael Jackson inspired him to discover and explore all music. Although he did not speak English, he soon learned how to sing every word and dance every step he saw in American videos. Zawezo realized that he was born to pursue a career in music. At 19, Zawezo came to the United State to live. Now living in the Bronx, NY Zawezo became acquainted with local musicians and rapidly learned to speak English. It was in the Bronx streets, the birthplace of Hip Hop ,that Zawezo met his recording partner of 6 years, Sensato, and together they created the group Del'Patio. Quickly they became recognized as a major player in the underground hip-hop.
