Leisha
Leisha Diaz, “Leisha”, is a Dominican singer-songwriter, pianist, record producer, actress, model and dancer. Leisha has a soprano vocal range and harmoniously blends her Dominican and American influences with the musical genres of bachata, pop, dance, and even classical music. Using this fusion of culture, modernity, and classicism, Leisha has compiled over 100 songs accompanied by her own musical arrangements. Leisha started playing the piano at the age of four and began writing her own music when she was eight. At age 15, she recorded her first pop song. Given her Dominican background, Leisha also experimented with bachata and quickly fell in love with the strong passionate feelings that so characterize bachata itself. She has worked under the influence of some of the great bachata musicians in the business including "The Father of Bachata", Luis Segura and musicians from the worldwide recognized group Aventura. Leisha graduated from the music department at Nassau Community College on Long Island, NY where her classical influence blossomed as she learned to sing opera and play piano masterpieces. On her upcoming album titled “REVOLUTION”, Leisha will be showing the world her medley of bachata, pop, and dance combined with her piano skills, sweet passionate voice, and profound lyrics. Her promising single “EL DRAMA” is already spreading across the airwaves on the tropical radio stations throughout the US. As the first female artist to develop her own bachata style and as one of the few solo females representing the genre, Leisha is without a doubt set to start a bachata revolution.
